For the past couple of years the number of tourists in Egypt increased significantly. According to tourists’ experiences, Egypt is a very safe destination either you’re travelling solo or in a group. The police and the military have several accessible checkpoints wherever you go, giving you a feel of being in secure surroundings. Besides, people are friendly and helpful. To make your trip safer for you, Tour Operators are required to represent your whole travel itinerary in Egypt to the authorities with all your personal information as name, passport number and nationality. This allows the police to secure the areas that will be visited beforehand.
Your trip to Egypt can be perfectly safe if you take some sensible precautions. In Cities that are occupied by a high number of tourists (as the Red Sea cities) clothing is not a concern. But in other places especially in major cities like Cairo where you can find more locals, it is advisable to wear modestly when going on excursions and avoid revealing clothes for your own safety and also as a sign of showing your respect towards the local culture.
